I was SO disappointed, it was much darker than the color on the box. It's not really red, but more of a dark brown with a hint of red, which isn't like the color guide at all. So, I ended up with a color that doesn't work for me because the box was deceiving.

I'm a natural born red-head but naturally red hair, just like chemically colored red hair, fades with time and age. So when my naturally auburn locks started turning beige with age, I started down a path of trying different reds both at home and in expensive salons.
After many trials and errors with my hair turning too coppery (orange) or purply-brown, I recently saw "True Red" and thought I'd give it a try. WOW, BANG, I got my youth back! My hair is now the same color as in my old photographs.
I've learned the hard way that the color you see on the face of a box of hair color is not as important as the color you see on the back of the box where it has a chart that shows, if your hair color is currently "this" then your results will be "that." That's what I go by when I buy hair color. So when I saw True Red I checked the back of the box for that chart and what I saw there, I liked.
Three weeks later after using it the first time, my hair is still shiny and soft, all grey is still covered, and it's reddish brown indoors and outdoors in the sunlight it's many glowing shades of gold and red, as complex in color as naturally red hair really is. JUST as in my youth! I'm getting so many compliments and my friends are all saying that THIS is the right color for me.
Because red hair fades the fastest, it's important to use color-saving shampoo and conditioning products after coloring. But I have stocked up on three more boxes of True Red, thus far, as it truly is my color.
